Primary
How we work with Primary schools
We can devise projects and supply artists for Arts weeks and similarly can provide artists and advice for schools wishing to contract artists for long and short term residencies. We can facilitate Arts award projects for groups of young people both within curriculum time and out of hours – Arts Award could also be linked to Arts week activities.
Skills based workshops whereby artists introduce new arts skills or creative workshops in their specialist disciplines for both pupils and staff can also be arranged. The most effective ways that schools can achieve this is by subscribing to our members only section artists database where a list of practitioners can be accessed. All artists have up to date CRB certificates and are listed by specialisms.
Artists database.
We currently hold details of approximately 150 artists on our database ranging from animators to dancers to public artists to musicians to sculptors to textile designers, writers and fine artists.
Tailor made Cross curricular projects can be organised such as using artists in science projects or using our strong links with North West Arts organisations and Museums – such as Manchester Museum, please give us a call if you would like more information or a quote.
In addition we work with schools on projects that promote active Citizenship through art and design activities and on Enterprise projects using artists and designer makers.
We are acutely aware that funding is often the biggest barrier for schools interested in working with artists. Therefore we offer a service whereby we work in collaboration with schools to offer guidance on funding and to complete funding bids. There is no fee for this service as any costs to us will be included within the proposed project funding budget.
Teachers CPD Opportunities.
Postgraduate Professional Development; Contemporary Fine Art Practice is a new TDA funded PPD course for Teachers delivered by the University of Salford in partnership with Artists and Education. The course has been developed for teachers who wish to improve their Art and Design teaching knowledge and skills. The course leads to M level qualifications.
