Postgraduate Professional Development; Creative Education
The MA Creative Education programme is an innovative masters course designed around the Salford Framework for Work Based Learning. It is specifically designed to meet the needs of working teachers, primary, secondary, those in relevant educational support and development roles and those working within educational contexts. The primary focus is on the teaching of creative skills, disciplines and media.
The programme is centred on Work Based Learning as a theme of study and utilizes a range of delivery methods, bleneded to provide; a diversity of experiences for the learner, opportunity for individual modeling of the programme, optimum reflective time within the curriculum and access to learning technologies. The programme enables students to learn at an appropriate pace and negotiate individually relevant study with a mentor and support tutor. The aim is to ensure that the outcome of study is relevant to the needs of the student and the workplace. Whilst the curriculum provides goals for assessment and progression, the approach to work based learning, to action learning communities and to individual support allows the student to fashion their study to suit their personal requirements and the discrete context of their own school, institution or other work environment.
The course leads to M level qualifications:
Participants can study up to PG certificate (60 Credits), Diploma (120
Credits) or Full Masters (180 Credits). Each 60 credit module takes place over 2 semesters.
The course is accessible for all teachers regardless of their specialist subject background.The programme is primarily practice based with a minimum of sessions held at Salford University. Tutors will work with schools to provide support through action learning sets, virtual learning environments and workshops/support sessions held in schools.
COST
£450 per participant per 60 credit module i.e. per year. Participants must complete up to a minimum of 60 credits
