Artists & Education

The benefits to pupils will come through their exposure to a greater range and depth of arts activities thereby extending their knowledge, understanding and skills of both art as a discreet subject and through cross-curricular application of arts activities. Pupil’s breadth of study will be increased through increased opportunities for Investigating and Making as their teachers develop their own art skills and apply them to their schemes of work.

Many SIP’s have a focus on embedding the arts and creativity within the school curriculum and it is a core aim of the programme to encourage teachers to adopt strategies, through increased knowledge, skills and understanding that will enable them to contribute positively to this end. This will have a direct contribution to pupils improvement by ensuring the adoption of creative strategies and therefore an improvement in both the quantity and quality of their arts experiences.
