Visual Thinking and Learning Across the Curriculum – 10 week course
This 10 week CPD course encourages primary teaching staff to develop personalised Visual thinking/haptic learning strategies that, in addition to developing personal creative development promotes understanding of the needs of individuals who think predominantly in visual and holistic terms (rather than lexical and linear terms) many of whom would be classed as dyslexic.
Teachers and support staff work alongside practising artists and visual thinking specialists. Topics covered include developing art and design schemes of work, working with an illustrator, a book artist, a printer and multi media and digital artists.
The course also covers how to develop effective out of hours provision and arts based cross-curricular projects.
