How We Can Work with schools delivering the 14-19 Creative and Media Diploma

There are a number of ways in which we are able to work with schools on the delivery of the 14-19 Creative and Media Diploma.

  • Schools can subscribe to our database where they will have access to a wide range of professional arts practitioners
  • We can provide tuition, support and advice in project management of arts projects for students, for instance organising art exhibitions, working on local community projects, enterprise projects.
  • Provide CPD sessions for teachers either in skills based arts sessions or in Project Management. (link to CPD section)
  • Working with schools to develop and manage individual programmes of study. This is something that we would develop on a one to one basis with schools, and would work to include local industry and arts organisations where applicable, sample project below. Costs negotiable.

SAMPLE PROJECT

Project proposal for pilot 14-19 diploma  project

Project Aims

  • To develop links with industries in the Creative and Media sector
  • to create a network of support for collaborative projects between artists schools and employers, drawing together learners from different levels
  • To deliver skills workshops to young people and their teachers
  • To measure potential for roll out to other subject areas. The project will also provide materials that will contribute to additional research into the viability of the project as a model for a wider subject community in the University

Project Outline

To develop an advertising and marketing project for an art book that year 10 pupils  have made. The young people have been working to create an art book that effectively demonstrates excellent practice in their school. The proposed module will take this product as its starting point and develop a programme of study, that incorporates a wide variety of arts practice, to effectively publish and market the book. Young people will be involved in market research, the design of advertising materials, the exploration of new technologies to create advertising materials, research of manufacturers/publishers, research and contact possible retailers including books fairs or other opportunities to promote their product.

Where appropriate work placements and artists workshops will be made available to the young people.
